Getting Rid of Blackheads For Good
Blackheads, also known as comedone, belong to the family of acne. It is the first stage of acne, which is formed before our skin pores are conquered by acne-causing bacteria and in turn causes pimples to grow. It usually grows when our skin is producing too much oil that they coagulate and undergo oxidization. Normally, excessive oil is produced at the early stage of puberty. This explains why most people start to have blackheads since mid-10s. Uncontrollable growth of blackheads can be very irritating. Therefore, apart from prevention, regular extraction of blackheads is also necessary to regain good skin condition. When there is no sign of infection on the blemish, you can actually extract blackheads by yourself. Read on to find out how to extract.
Step 1:
Make sure your environment is extremely clean. Get the ready sterile materials that are needed to extract blackheads. Be certain that they are cleaned too.
Step 2:
Steam your face for few minutes so that skin pores are temporary enlarged. A recommended way to do this is to place your face over a bowl of hot water. To make effect better, you can hold a towel over your head to keep in the steam. *Reminder: Be careful with the hot water.
Step 3:
The best sterile material to extract blackheads is a flat blackhead remover or a comedone extractor. They can be easily found from most of the beauty stores. Beware of aggravated, inflamed or infected acne lesions. Over-extracting may causes scars.
Step 4:
Clean your face thoroughly after extracting. Apply toner if necessary to tighten the skin pores.
If you doubt your ability to extract blackheads, it is always better to hire a professional facial therapist. Or you may consider spending time to figure out the most effective way to prevent blackheads from growing.
