10 Things You Must Not Do If You Are Suffering From Acne – This is a Must Read For Any Acne Sufferer
Would you like to have a permanent cure for your acne, eradicate the incessant outbreaks and regain the clear skin you so desired? If you responded in the affirmative, then you are a step closer to experiencing an acne free life.
In life, everything has its dos and don’ts. Once you break the rule, you have to face the consequences. This truth is also applicable to acne. From experience, I have learnt about what works and what don’t work. In this article, I will share with you ten things you must not do if you are suffering from acne.
You must not consume foods that tend to aggravate your acne condition. Avoid junk foods, fried foods, foods laden with fatty-acids, red meat, dairy products etc.
Do not smoke if you have acne. Apart from other devastating effects smoking has on your health, it also contracts the capillaries and blood vessels of your skin. This deprives your skin from performing its function.
Popping and squeezing your pimples – this can be very tempting sometimes. But I strongly advise you don’t pick or squeeze your acne unprofessionally. When you do this you make your acne worse and cause the puss to go deeper into your skin.
Avoid alcohol – this is because it tasks your liver to convert the toxic substances contained in the alcohol into non-toxic substances, thus overworking the liver.
Don’t overload your skin with cosmetics and make-ups, especially greasy creams and cosmetics. Avoid medications with iodides or bromides.
Avoid the use of antibiotics – Most of the antibiotics cause the bacteria causing acne to become resistant to antibiotic thus increasing the production of these bacteria. Taking antibiotics can also upset our body metabolism and destroy the useful bacteria in your body.
Discontinue the use of tropical medications – these products only take care of your skin externally. They do not deal with the root cause of the disease. Little wonder you experience acne intermittently.
Avoid the use of accutane or isotretinoin – When antibiotics fail to cure your acne, your doctor often will prescribe accutane. Although it has been found to be effective in curing acne, its side effect in the long run far outweighs its benefits. Some of the side effects are allergic reactions, vision problem, liver damage, persistent migraine, birth defect etc.
You must not leave your skin dirty – Although dirt does not cause acne, you must not leave your skin dirty. Keeping the skin clean and bacteria free is a major step to curing acne.
Don’t allow a negative mind – think positive, say to yourself every time you look at the mirror “I am beautiful and acne free”. This may sound crazy, but it helps your subconscious to come up with a solution.
